Baba Weusijana's Models Page
This page's purpose is exhibit my simulations and models for public review and feedback. Feel free to use this link to email me, I want to hear from you!
Models Under Development:
SAfri: Southern African Agrarian Humans Suite
These models need allot of improvement (again feedback is welcome) mostly because the NetLogo language and platform has evolved faster than the models. They are based on the Wolf-Sheep Predation Model that tries to see what conditions will produce a stable ecosystem without extinction of humans or cows. Eventually my models should provide insight into the following research questions:
- What is the smallest size a group of agrarian humans can be and long term survivability is still probable?
- How is the above mentioned number effected under different family structures?
- How does the herding of cattle (instead of just competing with them or hunting them) effect the answer to the above questions?
Models cover the following family structures:
- Polygamy including:
- 1 Male mating with many females
- 1 Female mating with many males
- Any combination
- Monogamy
Some documentation is included.
Requires NetLogo for Java.
They will also run in certain web browsers and on the vast majority of computers that have Java 1.4 or above installed.
